APPROACH
Our approach to facilitating optimal performance has two main aspects:
- Identifying desired performance outcomes – which is done together with the sponsoring organisation.
- Identifying the knowledge, skills and motivation of the participants – which is done through surveys and interviews with the participants.
When we facilitate optimal performance, we try to mimic real life situations as much as we can. We use a range of methods for this:
- Exercises and Simulations that are relevant to the desired performance outcomes, and potential behavioural changes. This is often done in the form of team collaboration. This method fosters communication and resources identification.
- Presentations, where we let the participant present (e.g. exercises and simulation results), both verbally and in writing, in a ‘safe’ environment. This method fosters communication.
- ‘Business Connect Q&A sessions‘, in which the participants prepare, and ask, questions to guests from the sponsoring organisation. This method fosters holistic view, business acumen, culture and communication.
- ‘Socratic‘ learning and discussions, whereby instead of giving information and facts, we ask a series of open-ended questions about a specific topic, issue or situation. This method especially fosters business acumen and critical thinking.
- Discovery (‘constructivist’) learning, which emphasises the participants on their own acquiring knowledge relevant to their performance outcomes. Together with the participants we put this into context for further acquisition of relevant knowledge and skills. This method fosters holistic view and motivation through meaningful understanding and knowledge retention.
- Coaching, where we together with the participants analyse their performance, and whenever necessary give feedback on how and what they can further develop – in a manner that facilitates confidence and maintains self-esteem.
